Thursday 1st December sees the delights of Jersey’s Durrell Wildlife Trust descending on the bright lights of London.
Durrell are hosting a gala charity art auction, with all auction proceeds going towards the exceptional work that Durrell performs to conserve and protect endangered species, both at their Jersey wildlife park headquarters and around the world. The evening will take place at BAFTA headquarters in Piccadilly and is being sponsored by Santander Private Banking.
The highlight of the auction, Durrell’s second such evening in London, will be a rare set of 17 vintage photographs of Frank Sinatra, taken by the legendary British photographer Terry O’Neill. Terry O’Neill has been snapping the lifestyle of the rich and famous for six decades, most notably during the 1960’s during which Sinatra was the height of his worldwide fame. There are only two sets of the original 10 x 12 silver gelatin publicity prints of ‘Sinatra: Night & Day’ available, making this auction an exciting evening for Sinatra fans in London.
“Durrell is an international charity working globally towards saving species from extinction and it plays a vital role in worldwide environmental conservation. Funds raised at the auction will help Durrell to continue this work, so we are delighted to be able to support this most worthwhile event. Santander Private Banking in Jersey is committed to environmental conservation and we are looking forward to working on this and other projects with our charity partner Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust”
