The hotel’s wonderful ocean views are not lost on its discerning customers, but it is the whole concept of hospitality that needs to be celebrated as The Atlantic Hotel enters its 44th year in the business with panache.
Firstly there is the Ocean Restaurant which was awarded its first Michelin star back in 2007 and has retained it ever since. The dining is therefore exceptional with a natural emphasis on the freshest local ingredients, delivered in a stunning dining room facing the sea. The appointment last week of Richard Burton (what a name!) as the new Head Sommelier is in keeping with The Atlantic’s devotion to perfection.
Richard comes to Jersey having gained excellent credentials in an American Relaix & Châteaux Hotel at the beginning of his career, then in the UK at The Crab at Chieveley in Berkshire, and most recently at the two Michelin starred, five AA rosette Midsummer House restaurant in Cambridge. Welcome to him, we cannot wait to try his selection!
Next is the long string of accolades and awards The Atlantic Hotel has received over the years. But the one we want to talk about is the very latest: The Atlantic Hotel has just won the Condé Nast Johansens Award for Excellence 2014.
