This year’s Jersey Live Festival will see one of the UK’s most exciting young musicians perform alongside established legends such as Noel Gallagher, Primal Scream and The Stranglers.
Jake Bugg has been impressing many listeners across Britain since his appearance on Glastonbury’s BBC Introducing Stage during 2011. In the year since that life-changing performance at Worthy Farm, Jake Bugg has appeared on Later…With Jools Holland, had his early songs aired on BBC Radio 1 and 6Music, and released a critically acclaimed debut EP. He will be releasing his full length debut album on 15th October 2012.
Born in Nottingham, Jake Bugg started playing guitar when he was 12 and was writing songs within a year. Still only 18 years old, his music shuns many contemporary British influences in favour of the heroes of British and American rock n’ roll, blues and country; many songs feature a rhythm reminiscent of classics by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, The La’s, The Beatles and The White Stripes. Songs such as Lightning Bolt and Taste It are heavy on bluesy guitar swagger, with Bugg’s mature voice – way beyond his years – taking centre stage.
Appearing in Jersey for the second time this year, Bugg will play Jersey Live’s Main Stage during the afternoon of Sunday 2nd September.
Last minute weekend breaks are still available during Jersey Live, with many hotels in Jersey offering fantastic late summer offers.
