Jersey Heritage Muse Jersey Heritage have recently launched their ‘Muse’ series, introducing Heritage members to some of Jersey’s best artistic talent across music, speech, comedy, and film. Events will take place on Thursdays throughout the summer.

The events kick off on Thursday 14th June, with visitors being whisked from Jersey Museum away to a secret location, with an invitation to set the agenda for the rest of the Muse series. Four individuals will be given the chance to promote their topics, with the audience invited to heckle, applaud, boo and cheer.

Muse events will be regularly updated on our blog throughout the summer; keep your eyes peeled for more exciting nights at Heritage sites.

Harbour-Side Fun at Bonne Huit!

Bonne Huit Harbour, Jersey Jersey’s north coast harbour of Bonne Huit comes alive on Saturday 16th June, as the Bonne Huit Harbour Festival hosts all manner of stalls, events, competitions and festivities.

There are plenty of activities to keep the kids busy, including some great beach games throughout the day. Competitions include the ‘Strongest Man’, a ‘Bonnie Baby’ contest and a grand raffle, with plenty of local food and drink stalls keeping the visitors well fed and watered. Music lovers will be treated to live acts throughout the afternoon and into the evening.

Bonne Huit is known for its charming cosiness, meaning that there isn’t much parking available! Shuttle buses will run from Les Platons car park (at the top of Bonne Huit hill), throughout the day.

If you want to explore the cliffpaths, bays and rugged beauty of our north coast during your visit, we’d recommend the Water’s Edge Hotel in Bouley Bay.

Folklore Countdown

Jersey Folklore Festival Jersey’s first Folklore Festival is into its final countdown!

It’s just over two weeks until some of the music world’s biggest artists descend on People’s Park for one of Jersey’s summer highlights. Music legends Van Morrison and Ray Davies will be headlining the festival, which will also include sets from Joan Armatrading, Finley Quaye, Badly Drawn Boy, Wanda Jackson, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Nouvelle Vague, Lloyd Yates, Jake Bugg and Rodriguez.

Folklore is sure to be a unique and fantastic day out, and hopefully another festival to join the Channel Islands’ burgeoning schedule of annual musical events.
