One of Jersey’s top tourist attractions, Jersey War Tunnels is a historical site like no other. Life in Jersey took an eerie turn during WWII, with slaves being brought in from Poland, France, Russia & Spain to dig an underground hospital for the injured German troops.
La Mare Wine Estate covers 25 acres of land in the north west of Jersey, probably more than you thought possible on our small island. Tucked away in the beautiful country parish of St Mary, the estate is well worth a leisurely visit.
When Gerald Durrell established the Jersey Zoo and then the “Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust” back in 1963, his focus was on animals and their worldwide welfare. A few decades on and he would undoubtedly be immensely proud of what he has started.
Jersey has an abundance of amazing restaurants with quite a few of them in exceptional seaside locations. To go straight from a stroll on the beach, shake the sand of one’s shoes and order a glass of wine while studying the menu is quite a unique yet simple pleasure.
One of the finest remaining examples of Georgian architecture in St. Helier, 16 New Street was built in the 1730s and has undergone extensive changes and various refurbishments throughout its lifetime.
