Schools Go Head-to-Head in Jersey Festival of Sport

St Michaels School Jersey Having just said goodbye to the competitors of the Commonwealth Junior Fencing Championships, who have now returned home with their medals and wonderful memories of their all too brief stay on our beautiful island, we now look forward to welcoming children and their teachers to compete in the annual St Michaels Preparatory School Festival of Sport.

Established over 20 years ago, this Festival attracts over 240 children and teachers from 8 different schools based around the south of England to compete with Guernsey and the local St Michaels School pupils in the sports of netball, hockey, football and Rugby Sevens.

The visitors arrive in Jersey on the 6th and 7th of March and stay over a five day period. As well as competing in the different sports, competitors also get the opportunity to visit many of the island’s attractions, including the Jersey War Tunnels and Durrell, our magnificent wildlife conservation park.

Having worked closely with St Michaels for the last 10 years, we are always pleased to be invited to organise the travel and accommodation arrangements, and to present the winners with their medals at the Friday afternoon ceremony. We extend a warm welcome to all the schools and wish them every success.
