With Valentine’s Day upon us, thoughts turn to romantic nights out and special weekend getaways. Jersey is a perfect place for a short break at any time of the year and, with this in mind, we’ve gathered a selection of the very best hotel experiences, meals and sights that you can experience during late winter and early spring.
For Just the Two of You
- The “Luxury Jersey Michelin Star Experience” will give you an unforgettable fine dining experience “à deux”. Three of Jersey’s best establishments have teamed up to create a fantastic combination of their luxury hotel facilities and their three associated restaurants. This package will allow you to stay in one luxury hotel for three nights whilst experiencing the Michelin-starred cuisine of the island’s top three restaurants. The Grand Jersey’s Tassili, Bohemia Restaurant at the Club Hotel & Spa and the Ocean Restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel are waiting to be your hosts.
- For a country retreat, the Greenhills Country Hotel , which re-opens on the 14th February after its winter break, will provide the perfect atmosphere for a cosy and romantic break . Why not return in the future and enjoy their offer of a complimentary bottle of Champagne for honeymooners?!
- Both the Club Hotel & Spa and the Grand Jersey ESPA spa are open for those of you in need of pampering so go have a look at their couple offers.
- And of course do check our selection of hotels that are open all year round, guaranteeing you last minute availability.
Most of us would enjoy a walk on our favourite beach followed by a meal in one of our favourite country pubs or beach cafés. A stroll across the majestic St Ouen’s Bay followed by El Tico Beach Cantina should guarantee a magnificent sunset followed by a hearty meal. St Aubin’s Bay and The Old Court House Pub is another winning combination – walk on the beach or by the cycle track then relax in one of Jersey’s all-round favourite pubs.
A Full Day Out
Spend a full day out and discover Jersey: The Hungry Man in Rozel simply offers the best bacon roll with a view in Jersey. The little establishment is located on Rozel Pier on the northeast coast – what a romantic first stop, watching the sun rise on the fishing boats and what great photo opportunity! Follow your breakfast with a work out by walking along the north coast whilst taking in spectacular views of our sister islands (Guernsey, Herm, Sark) and of France’s Cherbourg Peninsula.
Enjoy a leisurely drive through the island’s beautiful countryside and arrive at Durrell’s Wildlife Park coffee shop, the Firefly just in time for afternoon tea. Perfect to relax and replenish.
And if you can survive another meal, make your last port of call a place with a sophisticated twist: Mark Jordan at the Beach opened late in 2011 and has already gained a great reputation for fine food, the best local produce, tasty wine and a friendly atmosphere. Enjoy!
Do not go away without having tried our local and simply delicious oysters. As a perfect accompaniment to champagne or to a glass of dry white wine, they will give you an incomparable taste of the sea. The Jersey Oyster Company is passionate about growing its oysters organically so don’t be tempted to harvest them straight from the rocks, try them at one of Jersey seafood restaurant. The Oyster Box in St Brelade’s Bay will not disappoint.
