The Harbour Gallery is one of Jersey’s most popular artistic venues, combining an art shop, café, galleries and workshops in one original harbour-side building. The gallery consistently features work by more than 100 local artists and craftsmen.
This year sees the gallery’s tenth anniversary, with an 18-day exhibition showcasing some of Jersey’s finest art, crafts and photography.
The Harbour Gallery is home to ‘Art in the Frame’, a local non-profit company that was founded by two art teachers in 1998. Art in the Frame aims to support contemporary arts and crafts in Jersey, as well as encouraging young artists to broaden their experiences and exhibit their work. The Harbour Gallery was opened four years later, and continues to be a successful hub for local art – run entirely by volunteers. As well as supporting local art, the gallery invites visiting artists to hold regular workshops and exhibit their own work.
The Harbour Gallery is the home of Jersey Soap, “Sew & Sew”, “Knit Wits” and Evolve designer fashions from Jersey. Homemade food is available at The Painters Palette Café, which has a picturesque view over St. Aubin’s Harbour.
St. Aubin is a perfect place for a short Jersey break, with the Harbour Gallery being one of many attractions, restaurants and shops in the area. Spend a weekend or short getaway at the 4 star Somerville Hotel, just a short stroll up the hill from the harbour and village.
