On Sunday 26th August, the centre of Jersey’s capital, St. Helier, will be transformed into a road cycling race course, as cyclists young and old, rookie and elite, take to the streets for the 2012 Annual Town Criterium.
Now in its fourth year, the Rubis International Criterium & Road Race Weekend was first organised in 2009 by Velo Sport Jersey Cycling Club. The aim of the weekend is to showcase the best of Channel Island cycling, bringing attention to cycling in its pure racing format and encouraging youngsters to jump on a bike and start racing for themselves.
The event opens at 11.00am and runs all day until the end of the elite race at 6.15pm. There are various events and races throughout the day, including children’s age group races, support races and relay races.
