Comedy fans are in for a treat on Friday 5th October, as Canadian one-line king Stewart Francis visits the Opera House for a one-off show.

Francis employs a dead-pan one-line style throughout his stand up shows, and has become a popular regular on panel shows such as the BBC’s ‘Mock the Week’ and Channel 4’s ‘8 out of 10 Cats’.

About Stewart Francis

Although he is Canadian, Francis was born to British parents. This British influence can be seen throughout his comedy, as Francis delivers non-stop, self-deprecating one liners with a sharp, dead pan wit.

Francis’ popularity extends beyond British panel shows; he has toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and North America – both on his own tour and supporting Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Ricky Gervais’ Science Tour. He has also written for TV programmes such as The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and The Gemini Awards.

Francis’ one-line charm was a highlight of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with the comedian winning the 2012 award for Best Joke at the festival:

“You know who really gives kids a bad name? Posh and Becks.”

Stewart Francis appears at the Jersey Opera House on Friday 5th October at 8pm. You can purchase tickets on the Jersey Opera House website.
