Tie up your walking boots and grab your camera and binoculars this weekend, as the National Trust for Jersey hosts a ‘Turf’ walk through the marshlands of Grouville.
Grouville is a beautiful countryside parish bordering Jersey’s east coast, a parish that is rich with natural wildlife and that offers some stunning views of green and blue landscapes for walking visitors.
This walk will give you a chance to discover marshy woodlands, water meadows, reed beds and their surrounding natural habitats. Guided by local naturalist Bob Tompkins, you’ll experience the natural beauty of the island’s south-east as you view and discuss local plants, birds and insects whilst enjoying the open air and sights of the country and the sea.
The National Trust’s ‘Turf’ walks are part of the Trust’s Surf n’ Turf walking series and are complimented by the ‘Surf’ walks – explorations of the island’s south-east inter-tidal zones. Please ring the National Trust office on 01534 483 193 to book your place. Numbers are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
