Eight days of all things delicious are coming our way… The Jersey Food Festival starts tomorrow, 18th May, and will celebrate every aspect of food in Jersey – from the fields to the Michelin starred restaurants. The programme is quite overwhelming, incredibly varied and well worth a good browse as there is really something for everyone to enjoy.
Farm tours, foodie films, family events and menus especially designed to showcase the island’s incredible array of fresh products and as always more, much more…
Farms & Fields
That’s where it all starts really, on the ground! The island’s agricultural industry has always been at the heart of community life in Jersey, and the passion of our farmers and producers is infectious.
During the week, you will be able to visit and tour places such as the Genuine Jersey Land Tour, Jersey Dairy which is now located at Trinity Manor Farm, and the fantastic Jersey Turbot Farm at St. Catherine’s Bay.
Food & Fun
Many restaurants have created entertainment packages designed to give a real taste of local food and talent. The Salty Dog’s aptly named Menu du Terroir will be accompanied by the Badlabueques, the increasingly popular folk band who sings in Jerriais – the local patois.
The Grand Jersey is involved in the festival with Genuine Jersey Afternoon Teas and the tasty ‘Longitude & Latitude’ menu designed by their Michelin-starred Chef Richard Allen.
The hotel will also be presenting some very appealing film + brunch combinations, including “Ratatouille”, “Babette’s Feast” and of course the delicious “Chocolat” will be screened! You will need to book for these events as the cinema has limited seating.
Family & Feast
There is genuinely too much to mention, so full is the week’s programme. However the festival will finish with Al Fresco eating in St Helier for the whole of your party or family to enjoy.
It is never too late to book, check our Last Minute Deals from many UK airports and join us for a week of one of Jersey’s passions: local food.
