Portelet Bay is below one of the island's best country pubs, the Portelet Inn, and can be accessed by the surrounding cliffpath walks. The beach is accessed via a long stairway, and is therefore unsuitable for those with mobility issues.
There is a public car park at the top of the bay, and visitors travelling by bus can catch the route 12 and 12a.
