C.I. Travel Group, the parent company of JerseyTravel.com, has recently donated £2,000 to Holidays for Heroes Jersey. This donation represents one pound for every one of the group’s bookings travelling to Jersey during July and August 2014.
Holidays for Heroes Jersey is a Jersey charity whose aim is to provide a week’s holiday on our beautiful island, to any past or present member of HM Forces injured, in mind or body, whilst during or resulting from their service.
H4HJ was founded by Dawn & Richard Woodhouse in August 2008. Since their launch, the charity has provided more than 1,600 holidays and, thanks to the generous support received, the charity is going from strength to strength.
C.I. Travel Group’s managing director, Robert Mackenzie, presented the donation to Richard and Dawn Woodhouse of Holidays for Heroes Jersey, on a beautiful International Air Display day early in September.
Richard Woodhouse commented:
“We are thrilled and honoured to receive the donation of £2,000 from C I Travel Group. The success of the charity is due to the support we get from Islanders and the local business community, C I Travel Group is a fine example of this generosity and we are very grateful.”
A group of visiting service men and women and their families were treated to a personal tour of the Red Arrows after the presentation. A couple of hours later and the ‘Reds’ were lighting up the skies above Jersey with their spectacular annual display of aerial acrobatics and colour.
And if a personal tour of some of the world’s most famous aircraft wasn’t enough, the visitors experienced a fly-by of the last two operational Lancaster bombers, accompanied by a Spitfire and a Hurricane.
