Within the confines of Jersey’s Club Hotel & Spa is Bohemia, Jersey’s first Michelin-starred restaurant and a gastronomic delight for any food fan. With a modern, chic style and energetic atmosphere from the popular bar, Bohemia is a fantastic restaurant for special occasions.

Bohemia offers diners a range of interesting experiences, including a sample market menu, cocktail menu and chef’s table with 11 course tasting menu. The wine list ranges from the very tasty and affordable to special, one-off bottles of classic vintage.

Bohemia’s Jersey-driven menu is directed by head chef Shaun Rankin, a Jersey resident for nearly 20 years who calls Jersey his ‘nine mile by five mile kitchen garden’. And the local produce speaks for itself: the a la carte menu is lit up by Jersey scallops, local Royal Bay oysters and three hour slow-cooked local duck eggs. All dishes are served with a twist, with Jersey vegetables and accompaniments featured on virtually every plate.

The restaurant’s main courses are a showcase of Channel Island seafood and fresh fish, with highlights including Jersey turbot with cockles and parsley risotto, local lobster and crab tagliatelle and steamed seabass with roasted scallops. For those diners venturing into the red meats, you can’t go wrong with the roast loin of Yorkshire venison and chocolate tortellini (not strictly local, but unfortunately there aren’t many deer roaming our island’s shores!)

Desserts are all cooked to order in a specially-cooled area of the pristine restaurant kitchen. Dishes range from the sublime and refreshing – lime glace and homemade sorbets – to the sublime and mouth-wateringly rich – Valrhona chocolate tart with prune and armagnac panecotta. The selection of dessert wines are perfectly matched to the dishes on offer and, for those wishing to end their meal on a deep note, the restaurant cellar features vintage armagnacs from our French neighbours just across the water.

Holding a Michelin Star for six years is no easy feat, yet the staff at Bohemia serve quality with effortless ease. A special treat for both visitors and locals.
