Next week sees the arrival of over 200 junior fencers, their coaches, officials, parents and supporters to attend the Commonwealth Junior Fencing Championships 2012, which is being held at Fort Regent Leisure Centre from the 13th to 17th February.
We were very proud to have been appointed by the local organising committee to assist in the travel, accommodation and on island transfer arrangements for the fencers, and with teams arriving from ten different countries over the weekend of 10th, 11th and 12th February it promises to be a busy weekend for our management team and Jersey airport.
These Olympians of the future will contest the championship at Fort Regent Leisure Centre, one of the islands iconic landmarks with superb facilities for all types of indoor sports. Only last year it hosted a major international gymnastics event which attracted competitors from many parts of the globe and it was an event in which we were once again very much involved in the travel arrangements.
The majority of the teams are being accommodated at one of the islands most famous hotels, the Hotel de France: a family owned 4 star property that offers elegant luxury alongside one of the top spa facilities in Europe.
We wish all the competitors every success in the competition and know that they will take back to their home countries wonderful memories of their stay in Jersey.
