St. Helier to St. Aubin, around St. Aubin’s Harbour and Village

Wednesday 26th September sees three walks centered around the south coast harbour and village of St. Aubin, led by well-known local guide Arthur Lamy.

The walks commence at 10.30am with a trek along the sea front from St. Helier to St. Aubin. Between 2pm and 4.30pm, visitors can hear about the history of this attractive and lively village as they wander the streets discover the history of the area. As dusk sets, the evening walk will give an insight into the harbour as the lights come on and the restaurants and bars come to life!

St Helier to St Aubin – Trains and Boats and Planes Guided Walk

Time: 10.30am – 1pm
Meeting place: Liberation Square, St. Helier
Price: £10.00

This walk will follow the original line of the old Jersey railway and tramway, from St. Helier’s old waterfront area to the harbour village of St. Aubin. Discover a world of buses driving across the sands, the Battle of Flowers parade, Jersey’s beach airport and the dancehalls of the mid 20th century.

St Aubin – in the Shadow of the Black Hill Guided Walk

Time: 2pm – 4.30pm
Meeting place: St. Brelade’s Parish Hall, St. Aubin
Price: £10.00

Take an afternoon stroll around St. Aubin’s harbour and village, exploring the back streets and hills that hide behind the waterfront façade. Highlights include the legend of Ghost Hill, the pub where Karl Marx once stayed, and the old elementary school.

St Aubin at Twilight – A New Evening Walk

Time: 6.30pm – 9pmm
Meeting place: St. Brelade’s Parish Hall, St. Aubin
Price: £10.00

Wander the village as the evening draws in and the streets, pubs and restaurants liven up. Find out about how St. Aubin has gradually transformed from being the commercial heart of the island to the lively harbour village that now exists.
